Type locality: Katanga, Penge, DRC

Diagnosis

Male is easily set apart from other Diastatomma species by (1) range from N Zambia to Katanga; (2) smaller average size, Hw 33-37 mm rather than 36-42 mm; (3) pale stripes on thorax broad, black-bordered on brown background, with antehumeral stripe absent and metepisternal stripe reduced to short streak below metastigma; (4) costa yellow, contrasting with dark venation, rather than all venation being dark; (5) S4-6 largely pale rather than black laterally. Habitat description

Streams in open landscapes, but possibly also shaded by gallery forest. Often boggy with a gravelly and/or sandy bottom, and probably emergent vegetation and coarse detritus. Inferred to occur from 600 to 1900 m above sea level.
