Type locality: Aswa river, Acholi, Uganda

Diagnosis

Male is similar to Z. occidentis by (a) green eyes; (b) S3 with broadly pale base, never pruinose; (c) pale central band on S7 widest dorsally or of even width throughout. However, differs by (1) ranging from N Uganda to W Africa; (2) smaller size, Hw 40-44 mm; (3) labrum and genital lobe largely pale; (4) Hw base yellow, contrasting with dark membranule; (5) Abd with pale bands on S2-7; (6) cerci with pale dorsal spot at base. Habitat description

Rivers shaded by gallery forest. Especially faster sections (rapids, falls), often with rocks. Recorded at around 100 m above sea level, but possibly up to 1200.
