Diagnosis

Male is similar to Z. fraseri by (a) green eyes; (b) S3 with broadly pale base, never pruinose; (c) pale central band on S7 widest dorsally or of even width throughout. However, differs by (1) ranging from central Congo Basin possibly to Nigeria; (2) larger size, Hw 44-45 mm; (4) labrum and genital lobe largely black rather than pale; (5) Hw base blackish like membranule; (6) Abd dark aside from conspicuous pale bands on S3 and S7; (7) cerci all black, rather than with pale dorsal spot at base. Habitat description

Rivers in open areas in forest. Probably especially faster sections (rapids, falls). From 300 to 400 m above sea level, but possibly up to 700.
